Because of the poor air quality cause by the California wildfires, Lindy in the Park is canceled for today, Sunday, November 11, 2018.

According to the AirNow.gov website, the air quality for San Francisco, as of 9:00am, is “Unhealthy” (red, Air Quality Index = 160), so we have decided to cancel Lindy in the Park. It looks like the air is improving, but we cannot know for sure and we don’t know how much it will improve or how quickly. Even if the air improves throughout thd day, it may still be unhealthy for sensitive groups (people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children).

Daylight Savings Time ENDS TONIGHT, early Sunday morning, November 4, 2018, 2:00am!

So before you go to bed Saturday night, remember to reset all your clocks and watches back one hour to standard time (“spring forward, fall back”).  And you’ll get an extra hour of sleep–-woohoo!  We hope to see you all at Lindy in the Park–on time, or maybe an hour earlier than normal!

Lindy in the Park, the longest-running weekly Lindy Hop swing dance in the San Francisco Bay Area (and perhaps in California!), is turning 22!

To celebrate, we will again throw our annual free outdoor potluck dance party and extend the hours of our dance to 4:00pm! Free beginner swing dance lesson, 12:00-12:30pm! Come celebrate 22 years of free swing dancing in Golden Gate Park by bringing main dishes, side dishes, salads, desserts, and drinks to share.

DATE & TIME: Sunday, August 19, 2018, 11:00am-4:00pm

LOCATION: Lindy in the Park’s regular location: the south sidewalk of John F. Kennedy Drive, on the 9th Avenue bridge, behind the de Young Museum, in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

We’re hoping to make this anniversary a reunion for both new and long-time friends of Lindy in the Park, both local and from out of town.  Please come celebrate with us! Reunite with old friends and make new ones!

Hi Everyone,

Due to the Bay to Breakers race, which runs along JFK Drive next to our dance area, Lindy in the Park is cancelled for this Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Lindy in the Park will return the following Sunday, May 27, at its regular time (11:00am-2:00pm) and place (weather permitting, of course) and resume its normal weekly schedule.
