Lindy in the Park 30th Anniversary Weekend: Aug 28-30, 2026

Wow, Lindy in the Park is turning 30!

And to make this anniversary extra special, we’re celebrating for 3 days!  Join us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 28-30, 2026, in San Francisco to reminisce about your Lindy in the Park memories, reunite with longtime friends, and make new ones!

    FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 5:30-11:30pm:
    DINNER-DANCE w/NICK ROSSI SWING SIX
    Verdi Club, San Francisco

The celebration kicks off on Friday with a dinner-dance at the historic Verdi Club in San Francisco’s Mission district. Enjoy dinner created by the Verdi Club’s long-time Executive Chef, Sean Gawel (formerly of Chapeau! and Frances). Then dance the night away to swing rhythm guitarist Nick Rossi’s his all-star group, the Nick Rossi Swing Six, playing hard-driving 1930’s-1940’s small group swing. Perfect for Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag, and all things swing. Enjoy this wonderful band on a spacious hardwood floor with room to swing out!

    SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 12:00pm–3:00pm:
FREE LIVE MUSIC SWING DANCE w/ JOHNNY BONES & THE PALACE OF JAZZ
Bandshell, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

We return to Lindy in the Park’s original location at the historic Music Concourse Bandshell in Golden Gate Park, and will feature one of our favorite bands, Johnny Bones and The Palace of Jazz. Johnny Bones, the regular sax player for the California Honeydrops, has put together his own all-star group to keep you swingin’ all day! Strongly influenced by the early hot jazz bands, Johnny Bones and The Palace of Jazz combines the intimacy of smaller groups with the energy of powerful musicianship. Whether playing standards or original material, this band will get the joint jumpin’! Let’s turn back the clock and swing out like it’s 1996!

    SUNDAY, AUGUST 30, 11:00am–4:00pm:
FREE OUTDOOR DJ’ED SWING DANCE & POTLUCK PARTY
JFK Promenade, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco

The celebration concludes with Lindy in the Park’s annual swing dance/potluck party located at our regular location: the south sidewalk of JFK Promenade between 8th and 10th Avenues, behind the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.  Longtime DJs Ken Watanabe, Naomi Walenta, and others will spin of all of your favorite tunes. Bring main dishes, side dishes, salads, desserts, and drinks to share.  Group dances, jam, extended hours, free beginner lesson (12:00-12:30pm), jazz step of the week, and food!  Group photo around 2:30pm!
