Hello Swing Dancers!

We are happy and excited to announce that Lindy in the Park is BACK!

With the lifting of many of the state and county COVID-19 restrictions, the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department has finally been able to issue us a permit which allows us to resume Lindy in the Park, beginning Sunday, June 20, 2021. WOOHOO!

So dust off your dance shoes and join us for the re-opening of Lindy in the Park. Get outside, see old friends, and SWING OUT!

Same Schedule: Sundays 11am-2pm, free lesson 12-12:30pm
Same Location: South sidewalk of JFK Dr (9th Ave bridge), Golden Gate Park, SF

Please note that because Lindy in the Park is free and open to the public, we will not require attendees to be vaccinated or tested for COVID-19. We welcome all those who want to attend regardless of their vaccination status. However, even though Lindy in the Park takes place outdoors, we will encourage people to still wear face coverings while partner dancing and continue to practice good hygiene: washing hands frequently, coughing into elbows, etc. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

Also, we are planning to give out free “Fully Vaccinated” Lindy in the Park buttons to people who can show proof of vaccination. We hope this makes it easier for people to identify who’s vaccinated and give them more peace of mind when asking others to dance. Completely optional of course, but if you wear a button, you may get asked to dance more!

Lindy in the Park

Dear Lindy in the Park community,

Sorry, more sad news: Beginning March 22, 2020, Lindy in the Park is on hiatus until further notice due to the Governor’s “Stay at Home” executive order N-33-20 issued March 19th to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you posted about LitP’s status if anything changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Swing Dancers,

Sadly, we’ve decided to cancel Lindy in the Park for the next two Sundays, Mar 8 -15, 2020, as per the recommendations by the San Francisco Department of Public Health for “social distancing” to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. These include canceling non-essential large gatherings (www.sfdph.org/dph/alerts/coronavirus-faq.asp).

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you posted about LitP’s status for the weeks that follow. Thank you for your understanding, and please spread the word (not the virus)!
