Today’s the 24th Anniversary of Lindy in the Park.
While LitP is still on hiatus due to COVID-19, we can still celebrate LitP’s 24th birthday! It was waaaay back in 1996 when founders Chad Kubo and Ken Watanabe brought a boombox to the “clamshell” in the Music Concourse, and history was made.
Big shout outs to Ken and Naomi, Hep Jen and the many volunteers for continuing the tradition!
Hopefully, we can get the ship moving again soon.
Remembering lindy in the park 20 years ago when I lived in sf and learned to dance at metronome ballroom, doghouse, top of the mark! Those were the days. Dance friends Colin folk and Connie. Now married 16 years with teenager in the south bay…now I yoga and Zumba class on a tennis court during coronavirus. Hope you all can dance again!
I have been missing Lindy at The Park. I happened upon this video I filmed of Calvin Hamilton dancing in 2012. Calvin is channeling Frankie Manning and Fred Astaire. Calvin makes all the girls dance like Ginger Rogers
